The last couple of years have flown by in disbelief and despair. A miniscule virus has wrecked havoc on our social, personal and academic lives. The Neurological Society of India was compelled to cancel the 2020 annual conference and hold the 2021 conference virtually. As normalcy appeared on the horizon, a new variant - Omicron - surfaced and set the recovery back. However, we are certain that a new dawn will emerge. Hence, with eternal hope in our hearts, we announce the 70 th Annual Conference of the Neurological Society of India in the historic city of Agra from 7 th to 11 th December 2022.

The theme of the conference is:
"Journey of Excellence
                  From Past to Future"

The Taj Mahal in Agra – one of the wonders of the world – was built in the 17 th century by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. An exquisite and aesthetically beautiful monument - it epitomizes the excellence of architecture and craftsmanship, enhanced by its spectacular setting on the banks of river Yamuna. This 'Journey of Excellence' continues in the Neurological Society of India's quest to maintain the highest standards in ethics, as well as practice in all fields of neurological sciences. We strive for excellence in all academic pursuits and in their clinical applications. These objectives will be furthered during our discussions and deliberations during the Annual Conference. The Japan Neurosurgical Society has consented to partner us in our pursuit of excellence in Agra and we warmly welcome them.

Agra has hosted some wonderful NSICONs in the past and we look forward to another stupendous conference under the able leadership of Dr R C Mishra and Dr Arvind Kumar Agarwal. I personally invite you to come to Agra in large numbers to savour an academic feast and to share the bonhomie and camaraderie!

Dr V P Singh
President,
Neurological Society of India
